| Post subject: | Trusting hotel front desk with bags/valuables? |
Headed down to CR in a couple days, second time down there, first time checking out SJO beyond a quick stay in an airport hotel flying to/from the coast. Staying at the Barceló and will arrive about four hours before check in. I was thinking I would ask the front desk to hold my luggage in the office and put my valuables (computer, iPad, passport, cash) in the hotel safe while I check out the Gulch for a few hours. I have a zip-up computer case that can hold all of the valuables so it would just be a matter of handing them the case to put in the safe. Does this seem like a reasonable plan? I know the Barceló is a decent hotel and I wouldn’t think twice about doing this in the states, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t being reckless. |

Everything in life is a risk however I would think much less risk stowing at a reputable hotel than taking open road with you. I have kept items at Sportsmen's and Castillo before no issues. |

I have stayed many times at the Barcelo and it is an excellent hotel. Also chica friendly |

Why not just ask for an early check in ? |
