Yes, it is best place in town. No need to read any other posts, or do any further research. Make reservations with non refundable deposits now before the best rooms are gone. You won't be disappointed or my name isn't ShitAss the Younger.

I was just there a few days ago. The incident with the tica assaulting and stealing from a customer are still the topic. As of 11 Dec, no girls are allowed in the Del Rey. Rumors said 1 january they will be allowed to return. I saw no activity at Key Largo.

The Key Largo has lots of activity. Dance classes, many other things and has been this way for several months. A friend of mine has gone there to listen to music groups and for dances. But it has nothing to do with the Del Rey unless they are also changing the Del Rey to a Cultural Centre. Certainly nothing to do with working girls either.

There was to be a concert at the Del Rey tomorrow, the 15th, and some sort of a reveal of the new direction it is taking. Hopefully someone can go to that and report back.

Here us a link to the reveal:

It is in Spanish, but the best I can tell they are announcing that the Del Rey building will now join the Key Largo and Del Mar to form the project Avenida Del Rey which will be focused on culture, gastronomy, and tourism. The spokesman promised more details come and then the concert began. One dude with his acoustic guitar. You needed to register to attend the event, so I did not go. I did not want to end up on their mailing list.

took a mid-afternoon stroll through the DR a few days ago. The Blue Marlin bar had 2 bartenders but nary a customer in the whole joint. 20 or so workers were in there do various forms of remodeling-painting, furniture replacement etc. All the pictures were still on the wall in the bm bar area, the last remembrance of what the place used to be, I am sure they will come down soon. The King is definitely dead.

If Matt told me it was closed, I would believe him. Is there a reason you doubt him?
