I got lucky and bumped from main cabin to 1st class yesterday from ATL to SJO, which I sort of find odd considering so many people have Delta status in Atlanta, I may have to consider more Sunday morning flights.

Arrived at 11:55 Got through immigration in 20 minutes and at my apartment by 1 pm

Can't beat that unexpected upgrade on the long leg.

Despite having a ton of Delta miles, every time I tried to book "Comfort +" using miles or miles & cash both the app and the website rejected payment ("name on card doesn't match name on file" even though it did). Finally called Delta to be told "that fare for miles & cash is no longer available"" and the cost was insane.

So I used orbitz and got a flight NC-DFW-SJO business/ first class for less
