Those are good prices. Especially since it appears to still be chica friendly. I met a guy that stayed there last year and he told me after only one night he requested to move to Castillo. He said the vibe had entirely changed. He said that night he only saw a few locals in there. He said the main reason he liked Amistad in the past was to chat with the other Gringos in between sessions with the girls. But last year the prices were only a little less at Amistad compared to Castillo. Rooms at 20K would make it worth the walk to Sportsmens for likeminded Gringo conversations and to chat with the working girls.

Although I don't have any direct knowledge, I would check to see their guest policy and pricing. While they stay an 'adults only' location, I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to attract a wider market (eco/medical tourists, locals, rainbow, as well as hobby). No mention of CRT discount or affiliation, also looks like al a carte pricing.

San Jose certainly has enough hobby focused capacity between the SL, Castillo, Taormina, and HDR. A good steak house and an elegant hotel where you might take a non-pro or favorite would be a welcome addition. I would expect a chill place for a quiet drink/dinner/conversation without the blaring music and "hey papi" chica parade. If MK is still involved, he is a smart businessman and has long provided quality accommodations.

Also decent (for CR) selection of Single Malt (Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Macallan, Talisker) and American Whiskey (Jack Daniels, Jim Beam) all c2000 to c4500.

I sent them a message via Facebook and I was told the website is being updated. Since everything is done on Ticotime down there, I imagine it should be updated within a few months. hopefully management will chime in here and update us on the new status. The phone number listed just 9 days ago is the same as before so I don't think it is new management.

Last night I went back to the Facebook postings and I noticed the messages were originally in Spanish and all pricing in colones. Apparently, they are not directing this to English speakers spending USD. I think you hit the nail on the head about the crowd they are trying to attract. Also, when I was at Castillo last September everytime I asked about Amistad I was told it was only being used for Castillo overflow. I hope I am wrong but I think they prefer to not have us mongers staying there. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to announcing the reopen on here as of yet. My fingers are crossed because I really prefer to be there. I love being able to see outside from the lobby or sit on the patio. But I am not the type to stay where I am not welcome.

WoW!!! Karol let go! That sucks. L.A. is/was my favorite place to stay. I like visiting SL and Castillo, but don't really want to overnight at either. Looks like Covid did serious damage to the Gringo Gulch! phucking Wuhan!!!

I just heard from a good source that Amistad is the same as it was before they closed. I assume they are not offering the all-inclusive with the new restaurant there. But being a hooker hotel for cheap and close to the action sounds great to me. I guess for now we have to check their Facebook page for updates.

Hopefully Mkink will chime in with the real skinny on L.A.!!!
Still bummed about Karol being gone! :x She was a valued friend/wing woman to me. Hooked me up with a few part time pros that didn't hang at the usual pickup bars. Real GFE types who would spend all day with me for 50mil....

I agree about Karol. She is a real sweetheart. I am sure there is a good reason but I would think with the current prices they could pack La Amistad if they updated their website and posted the deals on here.

Apparently we don't wear Life like a loose garment as well as you! If the train noise bothered me, why would I have stayed there so many times or care what happens to the hotel???

The Amistad is open now but you have to walk down to the Castillo for your free breakfast. The steak house is a seperate entity. Darren told me they are trying to promote the Amistad more now. I just returned from a 10 day stay at the Castillo.

Tico music and dancing now. If that's your thing, check it out.

Better than EDM or trance IMO, but don't expect to find unaccompanied chicas. I went with my hovia; decent food, drink, and atmosphere. Great prices. A good time was had by all.
