I tried to book a room for January, 2024. The price for a queen room for 5 nights is $187. The site allows me to input all information, but when I select "Book", it displays "Cannot process your booking right now. Please try again or contact the property." I have tried for more than an hour with the same result. I got to the site by searching on Google for "Hotel La Amistad San Jose Costa Rica" and selecting "Official site" in the results. It takes me to the same place as clicking "Reservation Request" on their website, but the rates are listed in USD. I also found them on Airbnb listed as a room in a bed and breakfast for $38 per night. With the Airbnb fees, total is $216 for five nights. There is no option to select the type of room, so probably is the lowest priced rooms.

Update: I sent an email to La Amistad and told them my experience, and asked what I should do. Within a few minutes I received a response from Matt. He asked which hotel site I went to. After I responded, he said he would tell Darren to check the website and call me. Darren called and made the reservation. He said they have a special of a queen room for $33 a night, which doesn't include breakfast. That's a great deal in my opinion.

Of course they do. It is part of their game to get what they can regardless of if they really want it. It is our place to not let them milk us for any more than we think they deserve. I used to stay at a hotel that was $25 a night and it did not even have a restroom. The chic had to go down the hall to a community restroom. I never had a chic refuse to go there with me. And it never impacted the service level. Logic does not apply to these chics.

That explains the 'grimeywilliam' handle. Why would they complain as long as you were paying $150 for 15min?
