Am booking an upcoming trip now. Typically stay 3 nights in San Jose then 2 weeks in Jaco. For Jaco, I'm all set for accommodations at my favorite hideaway. Typically in SJ I stay at Sportmans and love it, but am considering a switch to Taormina this time.

Both are within an easy cab ride, so not a lot of difference. But Taormina has a hot new bar/nightclub, and Ive always loved that scene. Watching the girls shake it and knowing I can have any one of them is heaven on earth. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Speaking of shaking it, theres a new huge club in Jaco with pool, outdoor bar, and nightclub, right across from the Cocal called Republik. It will make that area the complete unchallenged center of the Jaco scene. Republik just opened shortly before my last trip, any updates would be appreciated as well.

Thank you everyone and pura vida!

I stayed in Taormina for one night. While the room feels more like a room in the states, I really enjoy the gritty vibe of Sportsman, I feel like I'm in a foreign country. While the girls at Taormina are hotter, I usually just scoop them up there at night either way.

But my vote goes to Sportsman that will always be my home base.

I live here……..Taormina has a better choice of putas. More non pros here. By that I mean chicas who are not there 6 days a week. The whole purpose of their visit is to feed little Pablo or Maria. SL has more of the “older been around the block” putas. Work horses in the true sense of the word. Went there for lunch the other day and they were all over me…..”Hey Baby…..”

Not that anybody asked, but the Rey sucks big time.

Agreed.

But I personally preferred SL for rooms and Taormina for the girls. There might be some bias here but SL just felt more like home and it was also where I started my CR adventure. Taormina felt like a Red Roof motel in the States and a crappy $10 fee for taking a guest upstairs whereas SL does not charge to bring guests in.

I pluck them out from Taormina, jump in a cab and enjoy my time with them at my home base in SL.

I was lucky enough to have Pops show me around on my first trip down. I agreed with his logic on why to stay at the SL. It very safe and all the guests are there for the same reason. It maakes it easy to tag up with people when you go out looking for fun. Also, it might not be packed with girls and most don't look like models but I've never picked a girl up there and felt like I got hustled or ripped off.

Taormina is cool but I'm the most comfortable at the Lodge.

Castillo/Amistad is still the best hotels going. SL smells like old men. Pee smell.

My first time in Costa Rica I stay at Delray 2004. Unfortunately my second trip not untill 2008 I stay at Morazon hotel. I did not even know about sportsmen’s till 2012. Until Covid I always stay at morazon. After Covid I stay at HC. HLH, Taormina and sportsman. Now I only stay at sportsmen’s. I love the atmosphere.

SL, no chica fee.
Taormina, $12 chica fee….more if you keep them over night.

Some guys I meet at the Taormina said their rooms were nice, but I didn’t see them.

First choice is the SL always.

I think the Castillo is the best deal in town with the all inclusive.

Just stand outside Castillo and you can pick off the girls traveling from SL to Taormina or vice versa. Hint, hint...

That is great advice, the drinks at Taormina are pricey. If you see one that you like, avoid that.

How far is Castillo from the SL, and what's the best time to get there to "pick them off? Thanks
