Hey all - travelling to SJO from Apr 13 to Apr 19

Which hotels have the best Wifi that I can at least pretend to work remotely from? I have a fantastic job that allows me to work remotely from anywhere and I want to test the WIFI down here for a possible longer trip - living here for maybe a month.

I'm chatting with a couple English speaking ticas (verified real on WhatsApp using video chat) that are willing to Day & toda la noche for about $400 a piece for 48 hours. Thinking maybe a trip with them to La Fortuna Sunday to Tuesday - just to have both company and to enjoy those beautiful views.

Any insight/input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

IME, the best WiFi in the gulch hotels is in the Sportsmens. Taormina is ok but isn't as stable as the SL. WiFi at the Castillo can be pretty bad, especially the further away from the bar you get.

Also, there are a lot of coworking places in San Jose. Selina has locations throughout the country including locations in San Jose (1 block from SL), Fortuna, Jaco, etc.

No, cheap lodgings if you are traveling the country alone (hostel bunks or small private rooms), but daytime coworking/hot desks available at each location.

I live in SJ but a few years ago my home internet was out and I rented a desk for $10 a day. WiFi, free coffee, kitchen, food available for purchase. It tends to be a younger crowd that stays there, but daytime use was more mixed.

I sorry GM I don't think they would let you do it out in the open or even in one of the private offices there at Selinas. Is a coworking space.

I would put Selina in the definitely not chica friendly. Even if you rent a private room in the hostel part there is no chance you are bringing a chica back. As a hostel it attracts the younger pseudo hippy backpacking crowd. The younger women in that crowd are very hostile to P4P.

I have used the coworking space when I needed reliable wifi for business. As Boynton mentioned it’s about $10 a day for a hot desk. It is more mixed than the overnight hostel crowd. But I have a cover story ready about staying somewhere not Castillo or SL. As it’s only one block away many know what happens there. I just don’t need the attitude or arguments about my lifestyle when I’m there to work.

I have brought a few hooker types to the Selina for a nightcap in the bar before heading to my room @ another hotel. Doesn't seem like it would be a prob to head to a Selina room with my date instead of heading out the door to my hotel after our nightcaps. No one @ the front desk sees me come in or knows who I am with.
Actually it is nice to have a chica in an environment with lower-key music, & no other hookers, where we can relax before heading to my room 4 the main event!

Please explain why you said there is no chance of bringing a chica back.
