Post subject:  Swimming Pool Day Pass?

About to make my first trip. Planning on staying at the Castillo for the all inclusive but want to get some pool action during the days.

I saw on some other threads that the Barcelo sells or used to sell a day pass. Anyone know if they still day and how much? Or if there are other good alternatives?

KC Hotel in Sabana Sur. Day pass includes access to heated pool (9:30 - 5:30) and executive lunch at the hotel restaurant. Book or get more info via WhatsApp at the link below.

There are also various municipal pools that are cheaper and much colder.

Go for the heated option, littlejimmy will thank you.

Also, if you are going to do this, pack a rashguard and swim cap if you are bald or have thinning hair. CR is 9 degrees off the equator.

Hotel Santo Tomas, just across the street from Bar Poas used to offer a day pass for their pool and gym. I used it a couple of times pre-Covid.

It's a nice little pool and a small outdoor gym but it is NOT heated. If you are looking to swim laps, this is NOT the pool for you. If you just want to lounge in the sun and take a quick dip to cool off then it is great. It's only a short walk from the Castillo. I would contact the hotel directly to see if they still offer it.
