Statement regarding face mask use on public transportation

Statement
Monday, April 18, 2022
Due to today’s court ruling, effective immediately, TSA will no longer enforce its Security Directives and Emergency Amendment requiring mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs. TSA will also rescind the new Security Directives that were scheduled to take effect tomorrow. CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings at this time.

People can still wear a mask if they feel the need too, I am glad that the FL judge did what she did. Should be less problems on flights now!!

Your ability to contract the COVID virus (at least to corporate America) depends on if you’re spending money.

Not spending money? You must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Buy an airplane ticket, please enter our airport and airplane and DO NOT practice social distancing!

Whilst on the airplane, wear a mask at all times unless you buy something. If you buy food or drink, feel free to keep your mask off as long as you have food and drink in front of you.

At least now you don’t have to buy food or drinks to not wear your mask.

And I am not saying this to argue about masks or social distancing, it’s a commentary on corporate hypocrisy.

The Airlines didn't impose the mask mandate upon themselves or the rules regarding when the masks can be lowered! The Federal Gov did. The Airlines were forced to inforce the rules or loose their ability to Legally operate!

And the Justice Department has announced they will appeal the Monday ruling dropping the mask mandate.

Also be aware that some airlines/flights might still require masks. I was checking with Copa for a probably CR visit in May, and it appears that COPA still requires masks based on Panamanian requirements.

Nobody was flying when COVID first occurred as airplanes were considered “superspreader” locations. Airlines had to restore the confidence of the public that flying was safe. They claimed to sanitize the aircraft and enforce mask mandates to pacify the passengers. Oddly they banned any real protective gear that one would wear in a biohazard environment, because that would scare the passengers. And they were doing this while the Federal government was trying to figure out what to do.

Here is an example https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/ne ... 14681.html

There are many of these stories to choose from back in the day

An airlines reserve the right to declare whatever decorum they so desire. Just like a restaurant can require a coat and tie. I remember days when airlines wouldn’t allow passengers in first class that didn’t fit a certain dress code. I remember a news story about a couple wearing sweat clothes (jogging suits) and the airlines refused to allow them to fly. (That was back in day when you dressed up to fly, this story is not related to COVID)

How old would you be if you didn't know the day you were born?

Ahhh Zen Koans!

My Cambodian barber doesn’t know or have any papers. She estimates on what she remembers and the dates of those events. She is much older than her ID says because when her family immigrated to the USA the immigration agent saw how small she was and made a guess since her parents didn’t have a birth certificate.

Actually, Toby Keith wrote it about Willie Nelson in the song "Don't Let the Old Man In". It was used in the Clint Eastwood film "The Mule" about a 90 year old horticulturalist who becomes a drug courier for the Sinaloa cartel.

But hey, that's about as Zen as you can get.
