So a rumor I heard was Taormina opened another bar on their top floor which used to be a casino room which is much larger than the ground floor one in hopes of attracting mo hoz and more credit card carrying gringos.

Anyone staying there or visiting there able to confirm this story?

if true, could be a game changer for them... :idea:

It's true. There is a bar up on the 4th floor as well as the overflow bar on the ground floor.

With a bar on the 4th floor, I'm guessing that the Taormina is giving up on the chica fee. Either that, or it's just a import duty now

I went to the 4th Floor of the Taormina Friday Night…I went up the elevator and when you come out there is a sign on the Door of the room/lounge that says VIP…..oooo…fancy…I didn’t have a problem getting in because I was with a tico I know, who knows everyone from all the familiar spots..and maybe because I was the only gringo not wearing my customary uniform..,cargo shorts, t-shirt and flip flops…I actually had jeans on..the horror..LOL Anyway it’s basically the set up as the other room in the lobby..but this one has a few tables set up with sofas like you would see at a nightclub in the US…like bottle service, hence the VIP name, I guess. There are some other tables away from that area. There were some hotties in there, some dressed very nice..kind of like prime time on Fri/Sat at the old HTDR or Cocal. It **wasn’t** jammed to the point where you couldn’t move and it definitely wasn’t as loud as the bar in the Casino downstairs..between the music blasting and when it’s crowded.

PS..I’m not going to lie I was “borracho” so maybe I might be off a little on some of the setup but if I go again, I will pass on the info here.

I was there in early December and the VIP is open on the weekends. I stayed at Taormina on two separate occasions, one Friday night and the other Monday night.

Friday it was open, but was told it was only open on weekends.

There were a lot of women there, but there were also many downstairs too. The quality was variable, but pretty good. I tend to look for the holy grail, someone who fits what I like (typically thinner, more on the petite side with a cute butt, but not huge) and someone who is just a nice person. Fortunately have had good luck, but my favorite came over and so didn't need to browse.

Most of the guys I see at Taormina prefer Oprah Winfrey types. :? Size 4 and 6's at Castillo.

A buddy of mine and some other friends go to Taormina often and score some hot hotties with great bodies. Not sure if they have more chunky monkeys than any other place, if so, maybe the Italian food is attracting them. :mrgreen:

Book early if you want to go here. I've got a trip in a few weeks and I'm having difficulty finding dates. Many of their rooms are sold out.

Last year around October I booked within a few days and had zero issues.
