Post subject:  Is Hotel Del Rey 24/7?

I unfortunately only have 1 day in San Jose before flying off. I arrive at SJO airport in the morning, and am spending that same night at an airport hotel. I plan to make my way into San Jose for the day in hopes of getting some action.

Is hotel Del Rey open for 24/7 action? Or are there any other spots? I will have bags with me, so not looking for a massage parlor or anything of that sort.

Just go to the Sportsmen's while in San Jose.

You're about 10 years too late.

Excellent advice, HDR is dead, SL is alive, many girls around the bar available, good bar food, great customer service, many gringos there with advice whether you want it or not, there's your best bet.

As others have mentioned/inferred, the Del Rey has been closed for at least a few months. Taxi drivers and chicas have told me it will never again be a chica bar/hotel or some say it is permanently closed and some say that it will re-open as a regular non-chica friendly hotel, depending on who you talk to. End of an era, from the sound of it.

Very sad as the DR took my CR cherry, like I’m sure it did for a lot of others. Not to the same magnitude, but reminds me of that casino across the street - Horseshoe I think. It was a cool place to hang out and always expected it to reopen, unfortunately not. Will the DR have the same fate?!?
