I posted something like this a while back but am closer to making it a reality now. I live in Playa Jaco, but like to spend about one week to ten days out of the month in San Jose. I'm thinking I could rent the apartment out part of the time to help with the costs. Looking for some suggestions that would make some of you guys renting it when you were down. Such as location, size, price willing to pay, etc. Look forward to seeing some info. Thanks.

What does the typical apt cost in Jaco or just outside of Jaco?

I'm going to relocate to CR in about 8 months... I've checked the web, but so much crap out there that can't be trusted.

I'm interested in a place with AC and dog friendly... just one bedroom. Other than AC, I don't need much of anything else. I'm not interested in the extreme low end... probably something between low end and the middle price range.

Is it cheaper to live in SJ (same type of place above) or live in Jaco?

Thanks.

I have noticed places in Jaco that are at least as cheap as similar places in San Jose, however, you can always pay lots more if you are very particular or don't do your research. From what I have seen, rents are highest in the 'nice' areas of San Jose, and lower even in the beach towns, unless you want a palace.

I could live more cheaply in Jaco, I believe, but I can't handle the heat and humidity.
