Hi,
I am going to CR for the first time this week. Based on recent events, Uber cannot pick us up at the airport bcoz of the cops. Is overpriced taxi my only option to get to Monica's? Is it safe to go to Monica's with my luggage. We have our hotels booked at Cocal in Jaco. We will be heading to Cocal from Monica's.

I would take it in the room with you just to be safe. Why not just head to Cocal there are places you can have fun at in Jaco instead of making a trip into San Jose just to turn around and head back thru traffic. Depending on the time of day you might be adding a couple of hours in traffic time.

if you are determined to hit the city what are we actually talking about money wise?
if uber is $25 and the taxi is $35?
seems like that's not exactly going to break the budget
and i agree take the suitcase to the room with you
also make sure you get dropped off right in front
don't want to be walking around w your bags on the streets of SJ thats just asking for it

Unless you have some very special reason for going to Monicas for 1 hour, why go there at all ?
Yes, it has good reviews but not worth a ride there then retrace your steps going to the Cocal adding about 3 hours to your travel time to Jaco.
Further, there are times when no hotties are around at Monicas and you then have to go to other favorite places like Relax, Oasis, HLH etc.
Is it really something you want to do ?

Good choice to head directly to Jaco. Not worth fighting all the traffic both in and out of town for a short stay.

Where is Monica's?

Between Ave 8 and 10 at at calle 4
