Finding chica friendly hotels in Jaco is certainly becoming more of a challenge. I always stayed at Mango Mar next door to Cocal, but it has recently been bought by Cocal and is now closed as it is being converted into two-bedroom suites as part of the Cocal complex.
A few years ago I stayed at Poseidon a few block from Cocal, but that has also recently been sold and I have not heard reports on current status.
Crocs at the north end of the beach used to be chica friendly, but reports are that has also now changed. Someone recently posted that they stayed at the Palms next door to Crocs and had no issues with chicas.
It has definitely changed. My last trip I was back at Cocal as that was the only option I was certain of. A warning about Cocal website. The reservation link next to room types leads to a page that only makes reservations for Vista Mar condos. To check availability of hotels rooms you need to call or email.
