ugghh...this happened to me as well. Just got back from a trip two days ago.
We made the reservations for two nights at Crocs back in December of 2017. About two months ago. They never notified or sent us an email about the change in policy.
We found out when we actually arrived and began the check in process. We spoke to evening manager and she wouldn't budge. Basically any "guests" need to be with you when you register for the room. And management reserves the right to refuse the guest during said registration; basically if they don't approve of your companion they don't get in.
This sucked because we were forced to call and get lodgings elsewhere in Jaco. We were lucky to find some given that it was the weekend and almost everywhere was booked. I mean if they had notified us in advance we could have booked another place before arriving. Crocs did offer us a full refund but we were annoyed that they made no attempt to update us on their new policy.
I asked some of the girls at Cocal later on and they said the policy went into effect fairly recently. Too bad, I really liked staying at Crocs..very nice place. Will not be returning there in the future though.
I hear the Vista Mar condos are nice though. They look pretty new and clean from viewed from the street.
