i recently came across this site after browsing through ISG. lately the info on isg is extremely outdated and i was so happy when i stumbled across this site. i currently live in canada, and i have my first trip scheduled next month. that being said i'm really hoping for some help. i have some dates booked for La Amistad, but I wanted to also travel to Jaco and spend the weekend there. I'm having a tough time finding a reasonable rate for a place, and also not sure where is chica friendly in that area. I was also hoping to get some info from you lads regarding reliable transport from the airport, as well as to jaco that won't break the bank. I've read through dozens of pages, and just hoping someone can help a brother out. play safe! |

La Amistad is a good choice for the extra 10.00 make sure you do the all inclusive. If you want to go to Jaco then the Cocal is ground zero there like the Del Rey is in San Jose. Everything at the beach is more expensive so expect your budget to take a hit. Grab a taxi and go, for a better rate go upstairs and grab a taxi there and you might get into town for 20.00, otherwise expect about 25.00. What time do you arrive? There are always taxi's at the airport so don't sweat that one. Do you speak any spanish? |

If you are on a budget it may be best to drop Jaco altogether and as it is your first trip you will find plenty to do in San jose and have control over your expenses by choosing girls from the SL and Del Rey for between $80 to 100 /hour to MPs for between $25/half hour to $40/hour. If you stay at La Amstad you can find other mongers to guide you. There are buses to Jaco from the 7/10 bus terminal in SJ for only $5 each way. In Jaco the Cocal is the only place to pick up girls - usually $100/hour. Next to Cocal is hotel Mango Mar and it is cheaper and you can take girls there. At the airport do not change money in the baggage claim area. Use the ATM. You can take the taxi from inside the airport who will take your credit card so you do not have to change any money till you get to you hotel. It will cost between $30 to $35 depending on the traffic and is a good option for a first timer. |

It used to be that if you take the all inclusive at la amistad for at least 4 days, they will give you a round trip ride to Jaco. That is a great deal if it still is in effect. In Jaco, stay at the Mango Mar. Not cheap but way less than the Cocal and it's right next door. Nothing fancy but clean basic accommodation. |
