What's up guys been lurking here for awhile been to CR 3 times now but usually once a year and always to surf and party in the jaco/hermosa area. In a few weeks I'll be flying into LIR, staying at the diria for a week. Great info on tamarindo so far I will try to add more after or maybe during my trip. If there are other must see chica spots or hobby friendly hotels I'm all ears thanks ahead of time.

Got back after a week of fun at the diria. Probably one of the best accommodations right there in the heart of the "strip". Casino is nothing special to write about. Not much action there but the machines are actually pretty loose if you wanna gamble. Security is pretty tight at the diria as the guests all have wristbands. If you wanna bring a friend in, they are allowed to go to the bar and restaurant without the band. Worse case you can remove your band and get another one at the front desk. If you wait it out you can sneak a girl past the guards as they get distracted pretty easily with other duties. Will def stay here again, the free buffet breakfast was a great bonus every morning

Rulethe808 did you explore any surf spots in the area? Several of them are in videos like Endless Summer. The surf in Tamarindo doesn't seem to be too good anymore. But close by Avellanas looks really good: http://www.costaricawaves.com/playa-avellanas/
Would be interesting to get some information.
