I've been coming to San Jose for over 20 years and have always stayed at the usual Chica friendly hotels. Is there a list of these hotels. I would love to stay at Don Carlos or a new hotel I've never stayed at. But I want to make sure it's Tica friendly. Could someone help me with this. Thanks

I assume you mean a hotel where you can bring multiple "guests" in throughout the course of your stay rather than a hotel where if you register the chica when you check in and she stays with you while you are there there is no issue?

And what is the limit of 'friendly' for you? A $100 chica fee like the Aurola Holiday Inn (downtown)?

I'll start (this is just downtown)

No chica fee hotels? Hotel Taormina, Hotel La Amistad, Hotel Castillo (renovated), Hotel Little Havana, Hotel Morazan, Sportsmens Lodge*?

Minor chica fee - Hotel del Ray, Zona II

Starting to get not so minor - Sleep Inn (I hate that place)

Expensive to keep them out - Aurola Holiday Inn

Not going to happen unless you check her in - Hotel Presidente, Dunn Inn

*only approved chicas

Unfortunately, Zona 2 now has a chica fee. It's a little different without Jimmy on the scene. Search for a thread talking about this surprising change. It was a hot topic about a month ago.

It will be our pleasure to acomodate you at Zona II. You can bring as many girls as you wish from the outside for a $10 fee each. Regarding the room, they are all very comfortable and private, and the bathroom is also top notch, however there's one per suite.

That takes them off the list of places I will recommend. I do not understand the mentality of chica fees, will never pay them, and make sure my friends do not stay there.

I enjoy our list of regular haunts, truly do. And there's much good to be said about their managers and staff.

Personally though I've kind of moved on and go more for renting a private pad. If done right it can be more economical. Granted you are your own security at that point so maybe not for newbies or those with no espanol.
