Recently got back from a quick visit to Z2, and I just want to highly recommend staying there to anyone who is considering it.

I've been staying at Z2 since the suites were introduced during the Zona Blue days (before the HLH rooms were added). The setup back then was clearly better but also clearly unsustainable. There were 10+ girls every day, they were mostly super hot, and they all cost just $20 (plus propina) with a stay upstairs. (This price point was crazy and I have no idea how it lasted as long as it did. To think that one could have the legendary Pamela for $20 is crazy.)

Today, the rooms are a bit older, the lineup is very reduced/less hot, and the prices are higher. However, I still find this place to be a tremendous value. First, the rooms are better than any room you'll find in "friendly" hotels in SJO, except the nicest suite at SL. Secondly, if MPs are your thing, it's awesome to bring girls up to your own gigantic luxury room. Thirdly, it's a tremendous value at $85/night CRT rate. Even the drinks at the bar are well priced -- especially during the 2 for 1 happy hour.

However, the thing that really sets Z2 apart from anything else has always been the staff. Eddie of Z2 was always very kind and accommodating to me back in the day. Jim was/still is the man, and also very gracious (even though I keep somehow taking his money on sports bets when I come to town, sorry Jim.)

Sid (current interim manager) is a really nice guy, Monica the bartender is quite nice, and the cleaning lady is even very friendly. I woke the poor door guy up at 5 a.m. a couple of nights in a row with a chica, and he was prompt and courteous to me. From top to bottom, nothing but good things to say about this place.

BTW I like some rooms better than others. I stayed Freddie's Palace Suite this time and really liked it. There are 2 bedrooms and a sauna. The suite itself is probably the size of 3-5 comparable hotel rooms. Wood floors, AC worked fine, minimal street noise, no noise from other guests.

Also, if you're weirded out by staying in a MP -- don't be. During the daytime, it's like you can go downstairs to a bar that happens to have girls in it. During the nighttime, you would have no idea it was an MP.

I really, really hope that the new owners keep this going and actually improve on it in the future and that I can continue to come here for the next 10 years. Especially if they could improve on the lineup of girls, this place has tons of potential.

Anyway, that's my glowing review of Z2. If anyone has any specific questions please feel free to PM me.

If I remember correctly, if you were staying at Z2 you were entitled to a discount on the girls there.

Is it the case now ?
