Post subject:  Need some Hotal Advice

This has never happened to me before. I have always stayed in The Mansion Wing at SL. I don't mind paying the higher prices because the rooms are nicer, quieter and more secluded. For the 1st time there are ZERO rooms available in Mansion on my travel date (in February). There are some courtyard room options (Felicidad, Belezza, Esperanza)) but I'm not really interested in those (too noisy). There's also available as an option a room called The Presidential Suite. I don't know anything about that room. I'm really looking for a nice, comfortable room, preferably with a jacuzzi tub and where I have relatively easy access to "prowl" for some company should I be in the mood.

Any suggestions? Should I explore Amistad (I've never stayed there)? Any other hotel suggestions?

Thank You.

I've stayed at LA a couple of times and really like it. It's quiet, laid back and the all inclusive is great. Just a stones throw (and I throw like a girl) from SL and a short cab ride to DR.

Look into Taromina. Not a bad place for a few days and walking distance from everything. Price is right.

always strikes me as strange that guys who have been around for years ask questions about a venue up the street
i know the SL is fun but really you never walked up the street and asked to see a room?
my first trip i stayed at HDR and SL and walked all over seeing the what the other places were like
i mean you have been a member since 04 i assume you have a couple of trips under your belt
amistad is literally a 3 minute walk and you can see it standing in front of SL..
by all means venture out a little and the penthouses in amistad should be to your liking lol

No. Why is that so hard to grasp? When I find something a like I stick with it so never had cause to walk up to "Amistad" and ask to "see a room". As I stated at the beginning of the thread "this is the first time I've encountered this situation at Sportsmen's". THAT's the purpose behind my question. Isn't THAT one of the reasons why this forum exists; to ask questions?

Yeah--I have a sense of adventure too. After my 3 days in SJ I'm off to OSA/Corcovado to spend a week at Sirena ranger station looking for pu*sy (I mean cats) to photograph. 8)

The king rooms at Amistad have 2-3 person jacuzzis and some have saunas. Never stayed in Mansion rooms at SL though but i think they are nicer from pics i have seen.

The Presidential suite at SL is the first room on the right when you enter, right past security, not too private if you ask me.

I stayed in SL my first 3 trips but have since moved to LA as i find it more relaxing, the all inclusive cant be beat, and its a 1 min walk to/ from SL action.

If noise is a concern, I would definitely avoid staying in the Presidential Suite.

When I stayed there noise was only an issue one morning (at 3) when a guy had (he said) a crazy chica and asked security to get her out.

For the record after considering several options I've elected to stay in The Presidential Suite. I'm going to be on my own so I'm hoping for some relative peace and quiet as well as comfort. I'm still trying to grasp where exactly this room is. Some said it's "the 1st room" as you walk in to SL. Does this mean it's in the Courtyard? Or do you walk by the reception and turn right? I'm confused exactly where the room is located.

If anyone can comment on the jaccuzzi please let me know. Just want to know if it works well.

I've stayed in Leon so many times it makes me spoiled that I use Leon as my benchmark for measuring quality for everything else.

As soon as you walk through the entrance door of the Sportsmens, it is the first room on the right. If you make it to the reception desk, you walked passed the room. It's a big room.

Go to the following link and play the video. http://www.sportsmenscr.com/rooms/ As soon as you walk in you will see the door to the room on the right. Towards the end of the video, it looks like they show the inside of the presidential suite.
