For those of us in remote locations like Canada or the Northern USA, getting to Latin America often involves 3 or more connections. It is not unusual for me to board a plane in Canada at 7am and land in CR at 11pm.

How nice would it be to fly on an affordable Private Jet to CR, sharing the plane when there are available seats. I think the Uber model would work well here.

The words private jet and affordable are mutually exclusive.

The gas alone would make it outrageous, then add it crew, maintenance, and airport fees.

Nice dream though.

Maybe what Devo is referring to is a short-lived app that would match customers to a private jet that was already flying to the customer's destination, for a low fare. The FAA put a stop to it because they said private pilots are not licensed to carry paying customers. I don't know if Canada's equivalent to the FAA also ruled the same.

Which has limited routings and is only "affordable" to millionaires.

Quote:
Bookings require a minimum of four seats per jet and you can only travel between New York and South Florida (for $4,950), Los Angeles and San Francisco ($1,950), and Los Angeles and Las Vegas ($1,950)

Delta is about $140 for LA to SF. Round trip. And $333 NY to MIA (round trip).
