Copa has a sale going on until January 20 for travel from February 1 to June 30. Round trip Orlando to Medellin is $399 and New York to Medellin is $417. Orlando to San Jose is $423. You can check two bags (50 lbs each) and take one carry-on without extra fees. You also get a hot meal. For those who don't like the bare-bone fares at Spirit, this is an alternative with everything included in the fare.

Yes, indeed! I received their e-mail. R/T between New York and Rio de Janeiro is only $500 US! I just booked MDE - MCO R/T for the end of the month... $399. I love the legacy service on COPA, too. COPA also auctions off its business class seats. I always bid the minimum, and am usually successful with a low-ball bid.

I put a low bid in for first class from Chicago to MDE and got it. A super deal.

What was the amount of the minimum bid you offered?

Copa is the best! The legacy service is like days of old when flying. Plus, my last flight on Copa, there were 2 gorgeous flight attendants. Last 2 out of 3 times flying into PTY, the 737-800's were brand new......business class seats were like Lazy Boy chairs with power controlled recliners, adjustable lumbar support and moveable leg rests.......really nice!

For my flights between MDE and the States, I usually bid $125 - $150 for the PTY to IAD or JFK legs. To FL destinations around $90 to $125.

Booked BOS - SJO for mid February for a total of $441.00. Great price for winter flights up here in New England.

I put in 125.00! If I remember correctly, you have to bid on both legs of the trip. I put in a lower price for the shorter route.... TIP........since the bidding does not give you the results until about 24 hrs before departure, wait until about 48 hrs before to do it. You can go into Copa at that time and act as if you are going to buy a ticket. You can then see the seating chart and the availability. Bid accordingly.

You can bid on how many legs you care to. I always bid on the longer leg to/from PTY. The flight from MDE to PTY is less than an hour, so I never bother with placing the minimum ($75) bid.
