Good evening to all, Here's the deal, I didn't want to bother anyone with information that can be relatively easy enough to find on the forum. But, I seem to have hit a wall, not with finding useful information, but finding a good hotel (that's also guest friendly) and that has a vacancy. The situation, I'm traveling to Costa Rica for the first time in January for an 11 day get away. After some research, I've decided to stay in SJ at the SL for the first few days, followed by a 3 night stay in Jaco (Thurs. Jan. 21st- Sunday the 24th), then returning to SL in SJ for the remainder of my stay. Problem is, the hotels I've reached out to (Cocal, Poseidon, canciones del mar are booked, which I have to say surprised me, considering I'm attempting to book 3 months in advance. I was interested in the mango mar as well, but my understanding is they are not guest friendly until March. I'm now considering Croc's, although the hotel seems really nice, I'm really not sure, mostly due to what I've read concerning the guest policy, or lack of solid information on said policy. Thanks in Advance for taking the time to read my first post. Any advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and then some! ~Fly~ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would try Hotel 9 which is a fair distance to the south of Cocal but is very 'guest' friendly and have a great staff. I'd also suggest checking out Morgan's Cove. They are more of a family resort kind of place but do allow 'guests'. Copacabana is a swinger hotel with small rooms for a large price, but it does have the nude pool and is another very 'guest' friendly place. Cancions del Mar is an all-suite hotel so a bit pricey but another that is very 'guest' friendly. If you can find another guy or two, there are a ton of condos that will allow 'guests' as well but can be pricey if you are by yourself. You can also find a review I did on Morgan's Cove with photos at viewtopic.php?f=23&t=47306 On Croc's, last time I ask face to face over July 4th weekend, they told me guests were ok but had to be accompanied at all times...they frown on unaccompanied guests and won't let them hang out in the casino or around the hotel like Cocal does. I also called them for a client less than a month ago and they told me over the phone guests are OK. |

As said in the last post....Hotel 9 is a great option especially if you want to be right on the beach. Another good option is Hotel Poseidon. Its only a couple of blocks from Cocal and has a good restaurant. Marc Pontbriant www.costaricagurus.com www.jacobeachbachelorparties.com |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hotel 9 is my go to destination, the only drawback they have and this happened to me last month, is that they are geared to big groups and if you have a reservation you may get bumped if a group comes in and wants the whole place (and they have only have a few individual guests staying) not as much a problem in high season as they are swamped but midweek low season you can almost have the place to your self |
