And, it's very near the best cigar smoking venue in town, where WiseAsh runs an excellent place . (I'm not a shill, he is just a great guy)

Same as Mona Lisa, unless it changes.

http://www.taorminahotelandcasino.com/ --new website not up yet

http://www.hotelmonalisacostarica.com/#!rooms/cinu -- CRT gets 10% off the room rates.

I understand there is a definite change of ownership/management and a big investment in the new business. All of the rooms are being remodeled and no expense is being spared in the new casino setup.

The first immediate changes you will see are some remodeled rooms, and the bar will move into the casino space with the big screen televisions. Also, the new website and reservation booking system is expected to go online very soon.

In the interim you can book through the old website. The new hotel will offer a CRT discount and occasional promotions and discounts to the members.

Sir Guy is staying on to help with reservations. However, all the management, security and administrative personnel have been replaced. It's a totally new operation and for that reason they went the route of renaming the hotel and making the changes on the business permits.

I hope that they will take security (i.e secure in room safes) seriously than they did at the Mona Lisa. That was a deal breaker for me.

For what that cost them in business they could have bought a new safe for every room.

all the rooms will have brand new safes and since the old staff was let go there has been no incidents of anything missing from a safe or a room. So out of the some fifty employees let go , there must have been someone or more than one in that group doing you know what. The new owners are great and making sure nothing like this ever happens again.

I also understand that the new hotel will have full surveillance camera coverage, comparable to any modern property in Las Vegas. Also the new management team has substantial experience in the casino business and they have hired a professional human resources manager. All the new employees have been well screened with background checks.

Thanks Guy! I will drop by in early November with my wing Paul to discuss old times and check out the new operation.

All the news above sound very encouraging. Seems like we have a major new hotel venue in the middle of the scene. Hopefully looker chicas will hang out in the bar/casino areas!

And perhaps all the construction/renovation will be done soon :D
