Was there in June, and checking in again next week. Read my last TR as I discussed the place.

Make sure to reach out and meet Guy. Any problems, ask for him.

Cruised through @ 10:30 Saturday night. Bar and front areas looked a little more closed off than last month. No one in there to bother going inside and have a drink. If you like anonymity then its your place but the chica grapevine will out your presence in CR in a few minutes if you're a familiar.

I like ML and have stayed there many times since the Superbowl soft opening (2011?). If you are looking for a more social setting then I would choose another hotel for now like SL, ML, HDR or Z2.

Hope ML gets it back up and going soon.

ml update...
new owners seem like right fit. Place is having major revisions, looks like they are serious about the hotel. Rooms big and comfy, great service as usual cannot beat the price.
Once again my hotel of choice.

Any recommendations on an upgraded room? Looking for more space than a standard room......

Try to get room 310. I was in it last week. Fantastic for the price. Check with Guy for upgrade. The Mona Lisa is doing a lot of things right that were problems in the past (hot water, a/c, internet, cable all work now, security is much tighter, the restaurant is open)It is the best value in San Jose for the money at the current price. There are usually several girls working out of the bar that provide very good service.

Just think, the "soft" opening was just 4 years ago and they are still not ready.
