Hey all, visiting Cocal for the first time this weekend (not my first CR trip though). Just checked the weather and it looks like 100% rain Friday & Saturday. All the trip reports here focus on the pool scene at the hotel. Was wondering if someone could advise what to expect if rain is in play.

Thanks

When I was there a couple months ago my phone's weather app said 100% chance of rain, but it only rained for about an hour or so during the afternoon and then there was a little rain at night. It was not constant. I was only there two days and nights, so I don't have much experience with weather in Jaco. Even so, I'm thinking you will be fine. Also, there is some shelter from the rain around the pool area. It rained a little one night when I was hanging out at the pool bar, and it had little effect on the scene.

Don't worry...the scene will be OK!

Keep in mind:

The weather apps are seldomly accurate on third world destinations, especially in the tropics. At this time of the year it rains in CR at anytime, any day...but it is typical rain storms that last an hour or less, not all day, and mostly during daylight hours.

The cocal pool bar area has plenty of cover. The entire bar and most tables and chairs are under covered area.

The chicas need to make money, they'll be there rain or shine...

If you are staying at Cocal, you can get from the bar/pool area to your room without getting wet!

Relax, have fun!

In CR there could be rain in the forecast everyday, and it might rain. But many times there is a 15 minute rain and then the sun is out, so just take an umbrella and have a beer.

That's what I wanted to know, thanks all. Yes, I'm staying @ Cocal so that's good news.

Don't worry the rain is refreshing and is not cold. I love when it rains down there as the temp is usually hot anyway and the rain gives a nice break.

Been there two weekends now in the last three weeks. Although it rained twice while I was there the scene was not any different than when I went and it didn't rain. Any like as been mentioned earlier the rain isn't all night and it is a welcome relief. Enjoy

I was there a few weeks ago. It rained pretty hard Saturday throughout the night but the chicas were still out. Didnt have any issue finding a few good ones.
