A cab should run you about $50 one way from jaco to SJ. If you feel generous, don't pay more then $60. All you have to do is just grab a cab and tell him how much for San Jose.

The ride cost me $60 by taxi from San Jose to Jaco. I think I will take the tourist bus the next trip as I will be solo.

I recommend Interbus. They use fifteen-passenger buses with A/C.

Yes, it takes about 3 hours but you can sleep or read or just enjoy the scenery. In 2003 it was just $17 each way and they'll pick you up and drop you off at your hotels.

Rent a car and drive. The roads to jaco are better than others in the country.

I just booked Interbus as well. Its still $17, you can book it on the web before you leave home too. Sounds like the way to go if you ask me.

Diveman...can you post the link to the Interbus site. I am a rookie planning my first trip to CR in 2 weeks. I am travelling to the pacific coast
and Interbus sounds good.

You can always book a ticket through the tour desk at the Del Rey.

How in the world do you sleep on that road?
