This trip I rented car and one of my favorites asked why I dont have the WAZE app ?

Waze is a fantastic free app for your costa rica phone, it works off the 4g network ( I have kolbi)

It made driving such a breeze, especially in san jose with all the one way streets.

WAZE is a community-based application... the users update and maintain the data. My first exposure to WAZE was in Costa Rica several years ago. I remember discussing this concept about 15 years ago at a GIS conference, and I rejected the notion that an interactive map could me maintained by non-technical users. Glad I was proven wrong!

Has anyone figured out how to "drop a pin" using waze? In the US we have addresses that Waze can find via Search. In CR the lack of addresses makes it more important to "drop a pin" when you want to navigate back to a place. Any ideas?

I've been thinking of using this next time, but how do you enter destinations without addresses?

They have a lot of destination in there if your start typing the names.

I dont know how I ever drive around san jose without this.

You need to be registered, logged in and have driven at least a mile with WAZE before receiving permissions to edit the map. There is an icon in the lower right corner of the WAZE screen and look for "places" on the dialog menu.
