Please tell me what you've stayed at, what you recall as the cost, and the benefits of the place.

Please also, warn me off of places that have done you wrong.

Thanks.

Check out hotel Karahe but get the beach side rooms. They should be done with the construction but you might want to double check. I only ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was average. The beach access is great but do not go out onto the beach at night. Prices were about 160 per night from what I remember. You can get taxi service pretty easily but a car would be the best way to get around.

I have also stayed at Villas Mymosa which is about half way to Manuel Antonio. It was a nice place not too big but had a pool and outside restaurant that also had decent food for breakfast. Price was about 100.00 per night.

BD:

I have stayed at the Costa Verde and Byblos in Manuel Antonio. I was satisfied with both and would recommend them to others. Links to their websites are below. I take it you are bringing a fav because there is not much in the way of P4P in the area.

Hotel Karahe was my go to place for the beach access but its pretty sparse as far as the accommodations.
The staff is great and the on site pool and food/service is decent.
But a few years back I stayed at Costa Verde and that is definitely my go to place now. There are 3 pools located on a large grounds with nice covered paths that make it like you are in the jungle walking around. Very nature oriented place with 4 or 5 restaurants that are a part of their hotel nearby. The one across the street has live music and the sea bass is incredible.
I never paid more than $100 a night at Karahe and its less than that at Costa verde depending on the season. But I always make sure to call directly to the hotel and speak to them about discounts for greenbacks. Tends to save me on multiple nights and most of the hotels speak that language.
The rooms at CV are far more interesting w lots of wood and outdoor balcony type areas w candles/lighting/ambiance that is much more than karahe. At karahe think the most basic of beach rooms.
If you have more questions pm me or you can talk to the masseuse about it should you need bandaging.

Check Hotel Parador. Sometimes expensive, but they have specials. The last time it was 50% off! Nice place.

I've stayed at the Babaloo Inn about midway between Quepos and MA. The King rooms are comfortable and nice but can get noisy if there is a lot of traffic. The jungle rooms are set back a little ways. Mar Luna restaurant is across the street. Small grocery store and bank about 1 km towards MA. Cash is king, I do believe.

Stayed at Costa Verde a year and a half ago. Enjoyed it very much and had a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean from the sundeck. I booked standard accommodations for $84/ night, but was upgraded to a studio-plus apartment with kitchen, spacious bath, sundeck, A/C at no charge during the "green season." There's plenty of wild life on the grounds and two swimming pools. The hotel is located about midway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio high on the bluff. There are three or four restaurants on the grounds. The two we ate at were very good... but typically high priced for gringo tourists. One of the restaurants, El Avion, is inside a converted C-123 Fairchild aircraft, and La Cantina BBQ is housed in an old railroad car. There is also a Boeing 727 parked on the grounds. When we return to CR... I am definitely planning to stay at Costa Verde again.

I've also stayed at Hotel Villa Prats with a group of fishermen I took on a fishing trip to Quepos. It is a small hotel situated about 100 meters from the Manuel Antonio beach. We were down during the tail end of high season, and the rooms were reasonably priced at 50 - 60 $US per night. The rooms were comfortable, but nothing fancy... and some even had kitchen efficiencies. I would stay at Villa Prats again in a pinch.

I've also stayed at the Best Western Kamuk in Quepos proper. It was not a bargain by any stretch, and not chica friendly.

Forgot about Villa Prats BD i've stayed there too.
Clean and serviceable for sure and I would stay there in a pinch as well
Last time I was there I believe it had an above ground pool but the young guy/manager that was there was really fun and we ended up making and cooking our own pizza one night.
Very reasonable rate at $50 a night around 4 years ago.
Right at the mouth to the rainforest walk and 10 min walk to the beach.

La Cantina is the bomb if they are BBQ'ing Lobsters. I have ate there many times and never had a bad meal. The restaurant at Coste Verde is also nice and I thought the prices were reasonable. The monkeys come through at sundown make sure you get a table by the rail so you get a great view, also beautiful view of the bay at Manuel Antonio. There is a little café almost at the end of the road that is great to sit at and drink while watching the people on the beach, I cannot think of the name but believe it has the word blue in it. It has been there for a long time. It is just before the last restaurant on the beach

Try the La Mansion Inn on Manuel Antonio. Your novia will love the Presidential Suite. http://www.lamansioninn.com/en/

Seriously, Here's a link to Costa Rica Linkup where you can find info on hotels all over Costa Rica
http://www.1-costaricalink.com/index.htm

Also, sometimes a Tica can get a better rate at the hotels if she books the reservation in her name.

Last time stayed at the Plaza Yara. It's a beautiful place but its on the wrong side of the road and there are no ocean views. HUGE rooms well appointed and decorated. I would definitely recommend. $150 a night

Also have done a stay at El Faro. The hotel made of old shipping containers. Surprisingly pleasant stay. Nice pools, the rooms are fine and the staff was as good as you can expect for a place like this. Price was really nice - Like $75 a night

First trip there back in 2010 stayed at Hotel Coco Beach - Meh. $60 a night. Brought two ticas with me on that trip though so we had a good time.

Had two stays at Costa Verde - LOVE that place! First time got a great room for $85 a night last minute! Expect to pay $125 and up though

Si Como No is very nice. The grounds are beautiful and the cabins are clean and fit perfectly into the hillside. They have shuttles to the beaches and down town. All and all a real nice place. If I had a complaint I would say the waiters lay in on a little thick with the tourist banter and some of the guests are a little earthy crunchy for my tastes but thats just me...
