timing air fare from LAX to SJO, any experienced members?

Post subject:  timing air fare from LAX to SJO, any experienced members?
Hey all, new member to CRT, not new to the monger world.

There's a group of us going to Jaco 3rd week of October for a bach party. Prices have been on a little roller coaster since we've started looking last month coming from LAX. high 300s to low 500s. I've seen some posts from last year that prices did dip to about the low 300s. Anyone have experience on when is the best time to buy?

If you want low 300's, you'll need a time machine to go back about 6-7 years.

If you can get it for 4, take it.

Mid-August is $424.

Thanks for the input. Dang looks like we might have missed out last month because when we first got this idea, it was sitting in the high 300s.

I also just read your 2014 bach post over at Zona 2, geezus, I might have to consider a night or two there before going to Jaco!

Wrong. I have booked my last three flights including the one in August for $336 on Avianca
You just need to keep checking a few months ahead of time and check multiple variations on the dates
And then buy quick because sometimes I see that rate for a week and other times less than a day
The Delta nonstop in Oct. was booking for $406 last week
There are several new airlines getting in on this leg and I expect to see more low 300 fares just keep checking

Southwest said they will fly from Oakland, Ca to CR from Nov. 1.
Check if they are flying from Orange County SNA in October.

Even MORE incredible is early December
The Delta nonstop is there at $240!!!

Slight correction it is $267 to get nonstop both ways and i am seeing that fare extending into Feb

Just changed my Halloween flight at n/c from Delta because tickets are now $230!!!
Really hope some of you guys are getting in on these.
