This looks like a great new trend towards lower airline prices To Costa Rica from Houston and from many of the major cities and regular hubs :D

I recently spoke with a member who did the red eye on United from Houston for under $300 round trip. Southwest doesn't even start their route from Houston Hobby until October, but the price war has begun.

SW is the one to watch after October. I was getting $402.00 R/T from Chicago on some dates.

B.K. S.W is going to start flying fro FLL in November. Look for fares to come down some.

The last couple of years I've been paying $600 - $700 from Houston. Booked on Southwest for October for $298. So yes, it looks like SW and Spirit are taking away United's monopoly.

That will be freakin awesome. I love JetBlue and have no problem paying a little extra over using spirit. But a third carrier will help dip prices again. It amazes me how prices from fll are sometimes higher then from up north

I am flying Southwest from CMH(Columbus) end of the month. $454 round trip through Baltimore-Washington.
Last trips on AA and United have run near $800.

Just a FYI but southwest won't be flying direct to sjo from fll. And the prices I saw are almost double JetBlue and spirit and those are both direct. Phuck southwest

I reported before that I was on the SW site and was getting $402.00 from Chicago to San Jose. If you put in some dates and then go to the "flexible date calandar" you can see prices for the month. The lowest I have found now is $351.00. All other airlines are about $300.00 more! It seems the weekdays are cheaper. No change fees!
