Post subject: | Mona Lisa or Sportsmens |
I have been down a few times in the last year and have stayed at Mona Lisa without to many issues. I'm not a big fan of George, but Guy has always been around to smooth things over. I'm coming in July and thinking about trying Sportsmen's for the 1st time. I've been hearing there's still a lot of construction going on at ML and really don't want to deal with a lot of noise or lack of restaurant. Is there any food being served there? or should I just give it up this trip and try out Sportsmen's? I've been there, but never stayed in a room there. |

I would have to recommend ML. The construction is not that bad and the money you save on the difference will pay for more action. |

There really is no direct comparison. The only things they have is common is they both offer rooms. SL is more expensive but you get so much more for your money i.e. room furnishings, restaurant, security and overall atmosphere. Plus they are currently running a special for CRT members so that should tilt the scale towards SL even more. It comes down to what you want, how much you think it's worth and how much you want to spend. Wit |

If you spend 5 nights at the SL, then 5 x $40 per night extra by staying at the SL you pay $200 more but you get a better room, much better hotel, bar and resturant, better mattress and most important of all nobody steals all the money out of your safe!! |

Flip-A-Coin....easy to make a case for both (if ML is doing the $39.99 deal)......I stayed at ML in May and will be at SL in July!! |

For over 8 years, I've stayed at Sportsmens. If Sportsmens is full when I want to come down, then I change when I'm coming down. In all the years, I've never had anything stolen, or missing and those times when I had chica problems in the room and told her that I would call the guards, she left quickly on her own. The girls know that getting banned from Sportsmens can be a problem for them. In addition, most of the guys who tend to stay at Sportsmens seem to be older and more level headed and less rowdy than the guys who prefer Hotel Del Rey. However, like the Del Rey, I can just walk outside my room in the mornings and have breakfast while arranging for my Good Morning Blowjob. ![]() ![]() It depends upon what you want. If you like to go out on the streets at night and enjoy taking similar risks with the girls, then Sportsmens may be too sedate for you, so the HDR may be a better choice. If you want to drink all night, then clearly the HDR is your best choice since the bar at Sportsmens closes at midnight. As to ML, I've not stayed there but most that I've heard about it are not positive other than they have cheap rooms. Ownership has been unstable for a long time now. |

Thanks Lenny, I'll be booking at Sportsmens. You made some valid points and HDR is really not somewhere I would be wanting to stay. |

I understand that Jazz. I was just looking for info from someone that is or has been there in the last week or so and could give me a feel for how the atmosphere is with the construction going on. His response just hit me the wrong way and I sometimes have a quick temper. I already booked at Sportmens anyway. I just have preferred ML because I like that the bar is open when we get back from DR and you can sit and have a drink before going up to the room. I'll just keep a bottle in my room. I've never stayed at Sportsmens and heard some of the rooms can be close to the noise. I booked in the clubhouse and will hope for the best. |

Not all of the clubhouse rooms are loud..the ones back behind the lobby desk are pretty quiet... If you generally stay out past midnight it's pretty quiet till about 7 or 8 in the morning even in the ones close to the bar. Fiesta..Pura Vida and Alegria are the clubhouse rooms in the back......I think you'll really like staying at SL. |

We got 2 rooms, the Amistad and Felicidad..I'm hoping there not to loud, but im usually out past midnight anyway. |

Just returned from a week in Alegria. I really liked the room and it is pretty quiet in the clubhouse. |
