Note that my information is from 4 years ago so things may have changed.

The Kamuk is convenient, has a casino and is right across the street from Wacky Wandas, the only bar I have found in Quepos with AC. When I was there it wasn't very guest friendly as you had to bribe the security guy to get someone up into your room.

Rooms were OK but a bit pricey for the area and the quality.

I also stayed at the hotel Sirena which is just around the corner from the Kamuk. http://www.lasirenahotel.com/. It was very reasonable, decent room with AC and a nice pool area. No issues with guests.
