During my stay at Crocs during July I didn’t have much trouble with having a chica in my room. During hours when their “nightlife” is occuring, it is simply a matter of registering the chica at the desk. There was no fee. During the morning and afternoon there are a lot of families, foreign and Tico. I have the chicas spend the night (my preference), so we had to be a little sensitive about avoiding the “walk of shame” – wearing night clothes out of the hotel in the morning. Making sure the chica brought clothes for the morning avoided any problems. Multiple chicas during the night or inappropriately dressed chicas during the day might be a problem. I really don’t know.

I don’t think Crocs management wants the chicas, but there is the reality of keeping guests happy. They are not in a position to turn-away customers. I understand the condo sales have been less than stellar. I was on the tenth floor and rarely saw other guests. It was super quiet.

As a review of the hotel, it’s nice. It is not 5-stars as some of the advertising states. The 3-1/2 to 4-stars on the travel websites is probably accurate. The best rates seemed to be on Expedia, this was confirmed by the desk-staff. It is cheaper to reserve online through a third-party. I had a nice king suite on the tenth floor with balcony and Ocean-view. If you prefer quiet, 10th floor or higher allows the window to be open without the pool music being bothersome. My rate was $140 plus the Costa Rica taxes. Note on the ocean view, The Palms condo building blocks about 20% of the ocean view. Of course this is not mentioned on the website nor is it visible on website photos. Not a big deal - nice to know.

The room was nice. Two complaints: the plumbing is awful for new construction. The sink didn’t drain after shaving (maintenance was quick to fix). The toilet clogged twice (maintenance was fast once and forgot once and required a second call). The sewer venting seemed to also be incorrect. Twice a nasty smell filled the bathroom. I was not the source on those two occasions. The other complaint is more minor and involves the flooring. The floors are sealed stone with a high gloss polish. It was the wet season, by early evening there was always a slick coating of condensation. Floor skating was possible until about 3AM. This can be avoided by using the air conditioning and keeping the balcony door closed. However, that seemed stupid too me. Neither were a big deal, and for the right rate I would stay again. However, for the same money there are a lot of excellent advertised condos in the area available for three or more nights.

footeroger...thanks for the great review! You are indeed correct (and I have confirmed face to face with them), Croc's finally relented on the no girls policy and we are now welcome to bring back girls but as you said, they must be registered at the front desk.

Does anyone know the price for a taxi from San Jose airport to Jaco? I asked Crocs and they said they charge $130 each way. Is there a cheaper way I can use?

Directly from airport you can take a pirate taxi (private car, not a real taxi) for $100. You can haggle down to $80.

Just like the chicas. No cien!

I can also recommend using PVT. Steve is very reliable and has lots of information about Jaco if you have never been there.

Crocs was just featured on BeachFront Bargin Hunt on HGTV tonight nation wide (states).

Studio flat for $299,000 American. No word on monthly condo fees. The couple bought at another complex down the road in Jaco for $190,000.

No word on Croc's in this thread over the last 7 months. What is the word now?

10 posts since 2009? What word do you want?

Several trip reports where members have stayed at Croc's and other posts are found by searching.

Great First post ASSHAT. You contribute nothing but take the time to find a thread with its last post 3 years ago.

Hey guys, I know this thread is super old. Can somebody please give me the latest 2019 / 2020 info on the guest policy at Croc’s? I have a trip planned in August that is already booked there.

If it’s going to be a big problem I might get another room for at least one the nights closer to cocal. I saw I place called blue marlin that looked okay.

Any helpful info would be appreciated.

Hey bud, I was there back in 2016 and went back in 2017 and 2018. The guest policy at the crocs is this, you are their most important asset. If you want to bring a girl back, i never had a problem with it. But then again Crocs is really lame to be honest. I recommend staying at Diamante Del Sol Airbnb a little near Cocal. Its a dope Airbnb complex and had no issues taking girls there (they check ID at gate and thats it).
Crocs is fun but too little besides gambling. The airbnb was a much more relaxed home base.

I’ll check that out, thanks.

I am planning to go to Costa Rica for the first time.
Therefore, I try to find out as much information as possible in all forums for an independent journey. I want to know more about entertainment like casinos https://spin-paradise.com like taxis, infrastructure, prices and anything else that might come in handy
I would be grateful to all participants for their help.
