Did anyone attend the opening of Crocs Casino in Jaco?

If so, does it look like a future destination.

Give me a break and only reply if you were there....I have tons of second and third hand information and opinions...don't need any more, thank you

This place has been open about five days now, no reviews here. Nor are there any reports from the online sources such as Tico Times, Costa Rica Times or AM Costa Rica.
Maybe its not the game changer in Jaco that many thought it would be.
Or maybe they didn't give out freebies to get some media coverage.

No freebies? R u kidding?? On wed. They practically gave away the store. Free drinks all night with hors d'oeuvres and then champagne so the owner could say a toast after his speech. Afterwards, we went outside at his invitation for a huge buffet, more free drinks and 2 bands that played non stop music by the pool into the wee hours. There must have been 500 hundred people outside and anybody could walk in.
I saw a few accompanied working girls but not free ones.
While I was there with my Tica, my friend was at Cocal and it was packed.
Went back on Saturday to the disco and did not see any pros there although a friend spotted 3 of them dining in the restaurant.
Looks like anybody can go into the casino but a chica cannot just stand around grabbing or waiting for someone to pay her a drink. She actually has to spend some of her own money at the bar while she waits for a knight in shining armour to come to her rescue.This is a foreign concept to many of them. Will keep you posted.

My guess, like every crap table in san jose .....only full of ticos,, until 7pm or until the house cleans them,,,,

I heard 18 table games 153 slot machines
No chicas in rooms unless checked in upon arrival(This is the one thing that might change over time)
As someone else said anyone can go in but cannot beg for drinks etc...must be on best behavior and be wiling to spend $$
They seem to have a deal with American airlines out of LAX for fishing and golf packages
facebook page has ladies night in disco Wednesday
Girls drink free from 7-10
In no way are they trying to compete with cocal
One of top management use to run NY NY casino and either luxor or Excalibur in vegas so table games might be fairest in CR.

I can't beleive that if one of the top management of any of these Vegas hotels runs this place that this place isn't "chica friendly".

Believe it.

A Croc hotel guest can bring a chica in, but they can't go alone to solicit business.

Here's what I know from a chica friend who was picked up at the Cocal and taken to the Croc -- along with two of her friends -- by a Croc hotel guest during opening weekend.

A registered hotel guest can bring in chicas. Unlike the Cocal, the chicas can't walk into the hotel or casino to lounge around waiting for customers. My friend was told this by one of the hotel managers. The manager spotted her and her two friends eating in the restaurant after they "worked" and told them very politely how things worked at the Croc.

According to my friend, chicas can go in to eat dinner and spend money, but if they are seen approaching potential customers they will be "asked" to refrain... or leave.

I am not aware if there is a chica fee or if the hotel required the registered guest to ALSO register the 3 chicas.

Since there seems to be some confusion on Croc's "guest policy" I went by there today and asked the front desk exactly what the policy is and here is what they told me face to face in English and Spanish...
1) A guy can bring in a girl to the casino or restaurant (if she is NOT dressed like a hooker) but single girls trying to work are not allowed in.
2) Guests of the hotel can check a girl in when they check in but will be charged double occupancy for every night of the stay. This girl will be the only one allowed in with the guest as she too is a registered guest.
3) Specifically ask about bringing girls from Cocal, the guy at the desk said "No, we do not allow that".

So yes, in a very limited way you can bring A SINGLE girl back but you will not be allowed to bring a new one back every night... Hope that helps clear things up and to make it simple, the do NOT allow guests.

Toured CROCS on Tuesday (3/10) and have to say that property is beautiful and upscale in all aspects. Most importantly to our forum, the "GUEST POLICY" brought me back to the later days of the grand ole lady, "HOTEL PRESIDENTE". Policy changed nightly and soon thereafter became NO GUESTS at all. Very similar policy here. Dressed nicely (no skin, jeans, tank tops, etc). Of course, policy can also be interpreted differently by whomever checks you in. Safest manner is to have your guest registered with you. For the COCAL players, a wasted cab ride if your guest is coming from there or other venues. Hotel is gearing toward same clientele that would be considering LOS SUENOS MARRIOTT and would like more action in the evening with the nightclub (not viewed) and casino. Conference and banquet facilities can accommodate small to large with no problems. Pool area is big with pool bar (separate area has resident live croc) and direct access to beach.

Casino is nice, airy and richly appointed. One crap table, roulette and blackjack. Did not see a poker area. Pay tables for Video Poker are set so high, all you could do is play for fun and pass the time.

Toured hotel room on the 5th floor and found room and view beautiful. Rates start at $214 and go to$324 depending on floor and balcony. Winter rates drop to $179 to $289 per night.

Condos start on floor 7 to floor 17. 44 condos in all with 18 sold (41%). Not bad considering there are no models and only floor plans. Three penthouses (3 bedrooms) going for $1,060,000 are all sold. Most prices start at $325,000 moving upward depending on floor and # of bedrooms. I would assume the guest policy is same in Condos as all amenities and common areas are shared. Would appear that the condo aspect is being well received.

All in all, a very nice property and cannot see the guest policy altered in the foreseeable future. Too much $$ spent here and management not trying to get OUR business. Hope this helps

They might not be trying for our business but it gives everybody(including us) another casino as well as dining options.
