About 5 hrs. ago, I booked a R/T package on H-wire to the DR, in about 6 months, for 550, which I consider a good price to the DR. Then out of curiosity I just looked at that site and the exact same package is now 950. Has anybody ever seen a rate change so much that fast? I think I am going to keep the printout of my intinerary with the price on it in a safe.

I see it all the time. The other day I searched on priceline for Orlando to Manila to Honolulu to Seattle. Price was $1150 all in with all flights on Delta. Check the same flights a week later and it is around $2200 all in (still on Delta). Checked yesterday, same flights were $1600 all in, (United). Trip is not for me or I would have bought it at $1150 because it wont get any better.

Also researched Bangkok for November from Orlando. $1000 all in on Jet Blue and Emirates (code share so you get the points). Layover in Dubai.

Set your filters to fly on Tuesday and at least 3-4 months out. Results vary from day to day.

I see what you are saying but the packages you are talking about are far more expensive for far greater distances so I might expect that. But for such a comparitivly short distance I was suprised to see this happen.

Try doing a price search, make note of all details then log out.
Log in again and conduct same search and it will have increased in price.
Now delete browsing history including cookies and repeat same search....
price should remain the same.
These sites use the increase to stimulate the buyer, pick up some extra dinero!
Clearing the history makes your search look like a new request rather than a repeat.

An excellent tip.
