Post subject:  Guest Friendly Hotels - Updated List??

Hello gents,

First post on the board, what a resource can't believe I stumbled across it. I see there is some excellent info but I am trying to find the most up to date listing for guest friendly hotels (and the associated cost of bringing someone back).

We are dropping the rental car off on a Saturday, late afternoon (coming from Arenal). Then looking to book two nights downtown. Trying to find the best place to book, looking at Dunn vs Sleep inn. Dunn has a cheaper guest fee (I think?) but Sleep Inn has a free shuttle. Does anyone have up to date info? Travelling in group of 4 guys, most will partake I think. Also would appreciate the latest and greatest news on these hotels, or if there are others I should consider?

Thanks boys!

Welcome.

Forget Sleep Inn, the fee is $25 (as of last year) per girl you bring back. Dunn has no fee for CRT VIP members and you get a discount on your room.

If you are deciding between those 2, go with Dunn Inn.

Get a VIP membership ($39/year or $99 lifetime) and you'll get all kinds of discounts.

Orange knows WASSUP.

You'd be wise to follow his advice.

I believe the lifetime membership is now $139.

The list of places that you should avoid would be something like this:
The Presidente - 11 years ago this was THE place for CRT members. Now they don't like "our" type.
Holiday Inn - very high chica fee. They also are not fond of "our" type.
Sleep Inn - chica fee is at least $25. They will tolerate "our" type if you are very discreet.

Hotel Del Rey is ground zero (you MUST check out the ground floor) but charges an $11 "upgrade" fee each time you take a girl to your room.

Most of the others (Sportsmen's Lodge, Dunn Inn, Mona Lisa, La Amistad, Hemingway, Zona II & Morizan) do not charge for guests. All of these places respect your privacy but ask that you respect the privacy of others. These are hotels, not frat houses or hostels.

Have fun.

Thanks guys! Definitely appreciate discretion, sounds like Dunn Inn is what we want, since we also want to go to El Pueblo or something like that. Want to experience best of both worlds (fishing vs hunting). How safe are the local areas? I know depends on the areas, but El Pueblo, San Pedro? If 4 late 20s white guys stroll in are we gonna be having to watch our backs, or as long as your rsespctful should be ok? Also, how is the gambling at HDR? Surely poker must be fine? Heard alot of games might be fixed... had the idea of getting two chicas but after reading a few stories, might pass on that..

In the day try ZONAII for high quality chicas at an MP. 5 to 7 pm try the SPORTSMANS LODGE for free lancers. From 7 to 11 pm try HOTEL DEL REY where you will find the best selection and after 11 go to KEY LARGO. EL PUEBLO gets going after midnight but it is not a gringo place so you should watch each others backs at this place. Otherwise the other places mentioned you will feel right at home

Guys in their 20's will have a better chance than as old farts. Go to the bars/clubs in San Pedro or Escazu. If you have a chance go to Castro's.
