Post subject:  miami airport smoking
My connecting flight to sj is miami, is thier anywhere to smoke beyond security or do I have to go outside? Does it take a long time to go through security if I have to go outside, my stopover is 2 hrs.

If you are a freqent flyer check your airlines FF lounges and also their partners. This is the only way that it may be possible to find a smoking area behind security. Otherwise you are SOL.

I used the BA lounge that had a smoking area on a trip back from UK.

Miami airport is a ZOO. :twisted: :lol: :lol: OK..all joking aside it is a very busy airport (no one speaks English in that airport..just kidding). Most of the time I go through there it usually is very busy going through the security check point. I was going to hang out at the Admiral club for an hour or so but seeing the security line so long that I would probably missed my flight if I had waited the last minute. I was waiting to go through security check line at Terminal B but the line was so back up that they took half of the people to Terminal C just to get them check through security and make the flight on time.

On the plus side...there are some gorgeous Latinas walking around in that airport so take some time to enjoy the eye candies. :roll:

Yes you do have to go outside to smoke, although I had no problem with it.

Just outside of security to the gates is an outside door, not far at all.....

We arrived at Miami at Gate D47, left out of D48, less than 3 minute walk to the outside doors, same level. Suggest you leave carryon bags after going through security if you are with some one and each take turns outside.

I connect in Miami and they seem to move people thru security pretty quickly. I have never had a problem getting in and out for a smoke with a 1 HR 15 min layover. I always look at the lines before I exit the secured area to see what I am facing getting back in, never a problem so far.
