I tried to find any info about girls at this hotel here, but no recent reports. Considering also to stay at Cocal, as it is considered as ground zero. Maybe I stay at Del Mar and to just visit Cocal and bring a girl back |

Canciones Del Mar is an all suite hotel that do allow guests. Also has a good restaurant on the premises. No girls action to speak of but like you said, Cocal isn't that far although at night, I'd recommend a cab. The rooms at Canciones are better than Cocal IMHO as they are all suites and newly remodeled. Cocal is always the best choice but they fill up and it can be hard to get a room. If you have two friends, consider the condos on the Cocal property, the Vista del Mar. Good luck with the planning and hope you have a great trip! |

Will see what I can get. Thinking about to go there in couple days. How is the girls scene during weekdays in Jaco? |

Monday and Tuesday are slower then it pics up on Wednesday to peak on Friday with Saturday usually about like a Thursday. Every client I had this past week was very happy with the talent. I was there 5 of 7 days and was never disappointed in what I saw. Jaco is also really good for all the adventure stuff that is so close. Hard to beat except for the heat...much nicer weather in San Jose. I know Cocal has already gone up to high season rates. Not sure on Cancions del Mar. Lots of other places even condos but those can be expensive if you are going solo. I recommend Morgan's Cove for a nice place and the Poseidon for a more budget place. Let me know if I answer any other questions... |

Canciones del Mar used to be my "Go To" hotel about 5 to 10 years ago when I used to go to Jaco somewhat regularly. This was before is was remodeled and I liked it a lot then. I'm guessing it must be even better now. |

Canciones is packed, but got a room in other Del Mar hotel, it's farther, but people says it is nicer. Anyway I can take a cab to Cocal. |

If you are talking about the Club del Mar Hotel, I'd call to make sure they will allow guests. That place is a more upscale family place for middle class Ticos. Only clients I've had stay there were going with girls who they checked in to the hotel for the entire stay. From the looks of the place, I'd be in serious doubt they will allow working girls...but I do not know for sure so suggest a phone call. There is a short term hotel but it is expensive and not real nice. That being said, Club del Mar is a very nice place with a very good restaurant on the premises. It is about as far down the beach (south end) as you can get. Do NOT go walking on that part of the beach after dark! |

Stayed there many times - was one of the best properties in Jaco - tended to go downhill a little - frankly, I thought the place had been sold and was owned by the Delrey folks - but I could be wrong; could be another property. When asking about a properties chica friendliness, its not enough to simply ask if they permit guests - you have to ask if there is a fee, and if so how much - b/c I seem to remember Canciones had one. In San Jose, for example, the Holiday Inn permits guests, but at a fee of $75 per - plus tax ![]() ![]() ![]() While I'm on the subject of "guest fees" its truly an annoyance - and a nusance to pay it - what possible purpose other than to gouge the guest does it serve - the hour (and lets face it - for most of you guys, its likely a lot less time ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The Cancions del Mar is owned by the Del Rey folks and has been remodeled in the last year or so into an all-suites hotel. It is quite nice by most standards although I say just 3 stars. It sits just south across the (nasty) river from the Copacabana so on the north end close to the Beatle Bar. Club del Mar is a different hotel all the way on the very south end of Jaco. The entrance to that hotel is off the main road NOT the road that runs through Jaco. It is a very nice place but definitely caters to Latino guests much more so than Americans and definitely not mongers although the OP says they allow guests so that works. GREAT advice on checking with the hotel about guests, fees, rules etc.. Also agree on the stupid fees some (mostly upscale) hotels charge. Local calls - $3, daily internet fee - $5. Gets sorta ridiculous huh?? Worst I've seen in Costa Rica is the Hilton Papagayo or however that is spelt BUT that is one nice property! |
