The Houston Chronicle reports that Spirit Airlines will begin flights from IAH to San Jose starting May 28, 2015.
Other flights from IAH via Spirit will be to Managua, San Pedro Sula and San Salvador,(among others) all beginning May 28.
Service to San Jose will be four flights per week. No pricing announced yet.
With Spirit beginning this service I expect pricing pressure on United and Southwest on the routes it will fly to CA. Yes, I know Spirit is bare bones transportation but I welcome the opportunity to save perhaps three hundred dollars or more per trip.
