Has anyone ever stayed at this hotel?

I stayed there, it was fine. On the other side of the street, half a block down, is a Tica restaurant with really good, typical food at great prices. Also, in the Hotel there is an upscale restaurant.

I stayed there for one night; about 6-8 months ago. Room was NOT impressive. I arrived late and had no other choices. There may be a lot of variance from floor to floor... I know others who have said it was ok.

Stayed at Hotel Europa over Martin Luther King weekend. Room had 3 beds! and was actually better than I expected. Even had a few English speaking channels (including Fox News), although watching the football game in Spanish was a bit odd!!! The News Cafe (part of Hotel Presidente) has excellent food at very good prices. Also nice sitting areas out in the walking area for tica watching!!!

How that slipped into a post concerning Hotel Europa can not explain but have to say in my opinion the News Café food is mediocre and overpriced

Hey Myrivers:

I've stayed at the Europa 3 times. While on business, they let me drop bags there, did my laundry, and allowed me to travel light throughout the country.

I've never paid a chica fee there. Don Carlos is right, get a poolside room. You are fairly close to the action, just a few blocks from Zona Blue and the BM. Cesar at the front desk will go to great lengths to help you out...a really nice K*D. All in all, I recommend it highly.

Ciao,
Perrochico
