I was searching JetBlue fares and noticed they have added an afternoon/evening flight between Orlando and SJO starting in January, subject to government approval. There is still no indication of a Orlando - Medellin flight, but they do show a connecting flight through FLL for Medellin (way too expensive). I hadn't seen that before, so hopefully that is a prelude to a direct flight between MCO and MDE.

For the last couple of winters, JetBlue has has a second round trip flight every day from Orlando to SJO. It has been for only a few months in the winter. Maybe they'll make it permanent. I've never known an airline (in these recent "cattle car" times) that is so responsive to its customers.

Could not agree more - excellent airline :)

And why not? They covered the (at least what used to be basics) - a seat with decent legroom, sane baggage policy - in that you don't spend $100    to check - or carry on a bag, seat assignment, coffee tea or a soft drink included.

If you were to tell someone back in, say, the mid 1960's, when folks dressed up to fly, and it was still something on a novelity, what the future held, they would likely not believe you - my point and my peeve is the things I mentioned are not "extras" - but on some airlines, you are charged for them - and their marketing would have you believe "you only pay for what you need"

Well, I don't require much, but if I'm going away for a week, I need a piece of luggage - I want to know where I'm sitting, so I don't get a middle seat all the way in the back - and I'm not talking "annoyance tax" type costs - a few bucks - lots more for what I would call the basics. The drinks I can forgo, and the legroom is secondary for a 2.5 hour flight - hell, I can even tolerate a "pre reclined" seat     (What a ridiculous oxymoron that is  )

But - as Pogo said "We have met the enemy and he is us....."

The American people shouted loud and clear, "WE WANNA FLY LIKE DEADBEATS" So do all you can, Airlines, to make that a reality. Oh, and price first class and Business Class so ridiculously higher than coach as to make it not an option unless you are flying with FF Miles or your company is paying the fare.

Take something that was one of life's pleasures, and make it into one of life's miseries - but before you do, make us go through the annoyance, the time, of proving we are not terrorists - and don't even think of "screening" because some of the ACLU type groups might get annoyed you are treating some differently than others.

I'm actually happy that I got to experience air travel as it was in the 1960's, when there was a class, an elegance, a "feeling" about it that is sadly missing today.

I'll close with how I started - JetBlue (I just flew them 4 weeks ago - so I practice what I preach) is an excellent airline and in the days we live/ fly in seems to understand how to make $$$$ while keeping service and some dignity for the flying public.

Enjoy the legroom and baggage policy of JetBlue while you still can (before they slowly morph into another Spirit).
