Being a local and watching this construction project is like watching grass grow... I'm guessing it will be done about the same time as the Pacific Coast Highway.......

The last time I was in town construction had begun on a new hotel behind the Colonial. Can anyone give us a report on its status. It would be nice to have a brand new hotel that was user-friendly on the same block as the Blue Marlin. Lee |

It is a work in progress . My best optimistic guess is maybe fall of 2005. |

Actually I think they are making fast progress by CR standards. Scheduled opening is supposed to be next November. Could impact Delrey rates a bit as a new hotel in that block that is chica friendly would cut into both the Delrey and Presidente clientele...but I also assume more and more mongers are coming in the next few year where there will be plenty of biz for all hoteliers in the gulch area. Maybe this will force the Delrey to upgrade their dingy rooms a bit too... |
