Anyone know if they are still charging a fee? Wanted to use my Holiday Inn points to stay there for two weeks in July.

Stay somewhere else. The Holiday Inn doesn't want our business.

...And it's doubtful you can use your Points to pay it. Understand your desire and it's close to HDR but why not give one of our Sponsors a shot? Not least for the comeraderie during downtime...

The Crowne Plaza is currently on the PointBreaks list so you could use your Holiday Inn points there for 5k a night.

Points are only for the room fee per night, as for the sponsors i will look into it but prefer a good high view to any see fireworks action if any, but not paying any $70.00 chica fee.

Plus 13.40% (or thereabouts) tax on the fee

Truly, its not a place you want to stay, especially if you plan on guests - its a shame, b/c its a decent place in a good location - stayed there years ago when the fee was either non existant or much less.

Don't give your business to places that don't want you there - and a fee of $70 tells you they don't - too many other good options.

It used to be a great hotel 'back in the day'.
Phuck Holiday Een. Last I heard, any member caught even thinking of staying there joins Pete Rose: banned for life.

Yikes! if that's the case, just hit all the MP's, NF is open at 9:00AM, others open as early as 10:00AM, plenty of options around noon to 6:00pm, Scores? Zona? were they talking about staying open late? Adding up all the MP's in the gulch to Paseo Colon you might have at any time 50 to 70 girls to choose from and guys here who frequent them regularly can give advice on good selections...

Badboy, since you also have another thread where you are asking about july4th fireworks here in COSTA RICA, here is a news flash for you!!!
COSTA RICA is an independent country AND IS NOT PART OF THE USA!!! It does NOT celebrate US holidays The 4th of July is just another day here!!!! Though fireworks ARE illegal everywhere here, on certain special occasions (Christmas, New Years, Costa Rican independence day, after a major futbal win, etc.) the number of fireworks fired off is unbelievable. During the Parade of lights just before Christmas they use to have about a 15 minute aerial display from the top of about 8 of the tallest buildings in downtown-not sure if they have done this the last couple of years! BUT again, NADA, nothing, NO fireworks on the 4th of July!!!!

Most Ticos don't understand what Thanksgiving Day is, either....... where we gringos celebrated the first, bountiful harvest with the natives in the "new" land . . . . and then proceeded to slaughter and victimize the natives for the next couple of centuries. Hell - - even I don't understand that.

But it seems to me that I saw on CRT years ago about some CR organization (maybe of U.S Expats. or of U.S. Vets.) that celebrated U.S. holidays with big festivities in a park somewhere near SJ. I never attended, and I can't remember more than that.
