Will be heading to Jaco for my anual trip in August. I noticed there is a gym down the road from the cocal as the road curves to the left. any info on this place. I like to try to maintain a workout while on vacation.

never been in the gym but, have seen some fine boooootehhhh walking in there!

Tony...not sure about the gym you mentioned but the condos on the property of the Cocal (Vista del Mar) have a private workout room next to the private pool. Both the gym and pool are only supposed to be for condo guests but I'd bet a dollar or two for 'security' would get you in. Nice selection of machines and a complete set of dumbbells so if you know what your doing, can get a fine workout there.

Used it many times - if you can get into the pool area at Vista Mar, you can use the workout room - no one is likely to come in or check - just go in and use it - I use a treadmill every day and the one there was fine

You do need to get into the pool area and need a key, but often you can follow some one coming out of the condo's to get in, or just go around to the front and walk back - you are unlikely to be hassled.
