I know most people dislike the Spirit business model but they are growing.

I'd welcome more options, but this sounds a lot like when a coach meets with a new team before renewing his contract.

I read the article, and Spirit makes it clear they talk with lots of airports and sometimes service gets expanded and sometimes it does not - that's business and no one should fault them for that. Sometimes things just don't work out.

Personally, since I live in S FL, I fly Spirit when they have a cheap flight, at the right time, I'll fly them (its a myth that they "always" are the least expensive option  - especially when you add in the basics, like a bag and a reserved seat  ) Plus their "pre reclined seats" are an oxymoron.

I hate Spirits business model but:

I'd like to see them expand into Miami - more options

I have had zero problems with on time proformance, or lateness = and I've flown them many many times, domestically as well as internationally

You cannot argue with their success - what I was always told was if you "commoditize" your business by making price the primary component, in the long run you are going to lose - so far that does not seem to be happening.

Spirit has the advantages of lower labor cost, fewer unions, no "legacy" costs, and better management - or so it would seem.

Actually I'd like to see JetBlue about $200 r/t from FLL to SJO - great airline!

Doesnt look like there is anywhere to expand at FLL right now, so yeah why not. If it means more options and more service..I'm in
