Spirit Airlines does have a sense of humor, even if many people don't like them. Check this news release: http://marketing.spirit.com/traveldeals ... =1705&mw=1 |

They definitely are cheaper, in most cases, from the East Coast to San Jose. You just have to bring a carry on and pay for all the fees upfront and print out that boarding pass. |

They are almost always cheaper, but there are also almost always a few caveats that will make you regret flying Spirit if things go wrong. No... I cannot tell you what those things are. |

A checked bag is actually cheaper than a carry-on. You are allowed one free "personal" bag if it is no larger than 16" X 14" X 12". I take some snacks with me and buy a bottle of water in the departure area, so the only extra I pay is for a checked bag. As for getting me to where I am going, I have never had a problem with them. |

It is kind of funny to see the Birkenstalk men sandal wearers with the black socks and gringa women with the yoga pants (who are outraged at the mongers in the hotel restaurants with chicas) get busted for the expensive water bottles they have bought at the San Jose airport when they board. Always amusing. |
