Looks like a fun place to hang. How are the rooms? |

Have stayed at Clarita's many times. Good place to play. Right on the beach. Good bar, good food. Prices rather reasonable for a beachfront location. Chica friendly. Nice small pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms are adequate, but how much time do you want to spend in the room? If you want a real nice room, stay elsewhere. |

I've stayed there several times. Small, quiet place. Great bar, kitchen, pizza, staff, pool. Rooms are pretty plain with no hot water in sink, just shower. Right on beach. Bar is a local favorite. Chica friendly. Good security. Have ladies nights, karaoke nights, salsa band nights and cheap beer nights. Very different from Cocal. Has a beach bum/surfer atmosphere. Hell, I'm 68 and I like it for spending several days right on the beach with a pool. Short taxi ride to downtown action. |

Like to step out of room onto the beach and into a fun bar. I actually prefer to stay at low key places. I never use the amenities at a resort so they are a waste of money. Sound like this should be fine. |

The rooms are not the greatest by far but worth it. Quite a few cute ladies work at the restaurant. Definitely consider this place in the high demand season since rooms are double the price at Cocal. |

Location and a laid back vibe are the reasons to stay there - rooms are very small. Some comments on Jaco in general: Its geographically desirable location - its the closest beach to San Jose - does not mask the fact Jaco can be (IS) a hot, dusty, expensive place. Guys talk about the Cocal, and the girls selection; I find it an overpriced version of the Delrey. (Speaking of the DR - didn't they buy the old Canciones del Mar <stayed there 3 or 4 times; liked it but the last trip or 2, you could see the disengagement of management> Any intel on whats going on) OTOH, new guys, the inexperienced (who don't have a clue how you can Phuck for so much less, and with less hassles in San Jose), the "Los Suenos" crowd - seem to like the place. Personally,I find it full of hard core types <no, not everyone ![]() ![]() ![]() Been to Jaco 12 times; its a great place to fish, but I don't love the town or the nonsense, and there are far better beaches to be visited - but worth visiting....sure. |

Funky charm--just the place for fading ex-hippies like me. A more-than-adequate throw-down. A bit off-the-beaten track but not too close to Turd River. Did I mention hammocks and a genuine horseshoe pit (try to find one of them in the U.S anymore) out back? |
