Stayed at the Hotel Dunn Inn for my 4 - 9 Sep trip to San Jose. This has been my 5th trip and stayed at a different hotel each time. The staff working at the Dunn Inn are excellent and went out of the way to ensure I had a great stay at their place. The Dunn Inn van and driver was on time and waiting for me at the airport (cost $25.00). The room was well maintained and cleaned every day, and for the price a great deal. They even ironed my shirts when they did my laundry (something some of my other stays did not do). If you haven't eaten at their restaurant I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed. The place is very chica friendly, and the front desk kept the chica's id and only returned it after calling my room ensure all is ok.

If you are not aware, the 2d floor of the INS building has a bank and I went there to exchange my dollars to colones (got 494 COL to 1.00). Found out the DI also owns a hotel in Jaco, Hotel 9, and will probably return to the DI next year for 4 days, then hit Hotel 9 in Jaco (single room quote during green season $79.00). All in all, know some from the board do not care for the Dunn Inn, but I highly recommend it for price/quality of room, cleanliness, service and restaurant (had some excellent meals).

This place has won me over. Was thinking of trying the LA on my next trip or Mona Lisa, but was too impressed with the stay at the DI that it will be my choice for future trips.

For 3 years i have always stayed there. I was hoping guys would keep bad mouthing about it so it wouldn't get crowded . Upstairs room, take a right off the stairs , end of the hall on the right is the room i always get. I've heard guys say the rooms suck , but they have only seen the small cheap rooms

Just literally returned from sj and stayed at the dunn inn two nights and two nights at the cocal in jaco. I cannot say enough good things about the DI. Nice rooms, great staff, and the food is really good. It feels like home when I stay there, and they are very chica friendly, and did call me when 2 ladies left one night to see if things were cool. It's great to roll out of bed after a crazy night and dig into their banana pancakes. It makes it so easy too when you have ladies stay the night with you at the DI, you can have a great dinner there and a great breakfast. By the way, the Cocal also has amazing food, I ate like a little piggie.

Re: rooms at the Cocal: I stayed over the parking lot for 80 CRT and it was very nice; had a chica with me and they are very chica friendly. Good a/c, nice and clean; one thing you must get used to is the staff is a little bit on crack. Not your typical hotel staff. The check in lady was rude; a guy at the check in desk was also rude; it is something about being a beach hotel I think. But you just get past that once you get used to it. don't expect Hilton front desk staff! Other than that the place is amazing, with more great looking chicas in the pool bar at night than i could count. Had a chica with me, but it was still great to watch.

BAT OUT.

It's great to roll out of bed after a crazy night and dig into their banana pancakes. It makes it so easy too when you have ladies stay the night with you at the DI, you can have a great dinner there and a great breakfast. so I will spend the extra 20 bucks for that comfort; sorry Guy, and ML: get a new chef and I will come back!!!! By the way, the Cocal also has amazing food, I ate like a little piggie.

Bat: Good report an an honest review. It is a little refreshing not to have to read a "shill" report, which is way to prevalent on this board. It feeds the wrong info to our CRT Brothers.

Was wondering if anyone has stayed at the DI's hotel in Jaco "Hotel 9", figure it also must be chica friendly? Wuz thinking for my next trip - 4 days in SJO, 3 in Jaco Hotel 9, then back to SJO for 4 days. This last trip wuz my best trip to CR overall. I just came back on 9 Sep and planning my next adventure to CR, but my bucket list trip to the LOS still lingers on my my mind - the countdown for that trip is now 18 months but whose counting.

Hotel nine is a small Chica friendly hotel on Jaco beach. Stayed there two nights and really liked it a lot. The pool is great...I do not yet surf or go in the ocean much, just played around in the pool with the Chica I had along with me. Was in room eight in the back, very cozy and quiet. Good food in their cafe. Quick cab over to the cocal for some real food. CRT rates. I recommend you try it. Not in the heart of the action so bring a lady or hit the cocal.
