If you are going to SJO to pick someone up and park at the parking garage, you will notice that checking in (getting your ticket) is a breeze. However, checking out is another story. They have discontinued the manual checkout booths and now everything is automated. You take your ticket to one of the 2 ticket vending machines, put your ticket in, put in the right amount (1,150 colones per hour) and it then prints you out another ticket. You then get in your vehicle where you driver to an automated gate, put your ticket in, the gate arm swing up and off you go. Seems simple enough except, the damn automated vending machines are out of order 90% of the time, so the only choice you have is to go to the new Caja, downstairs and pay for your ticket. If you go midday, when the bulk of the flights come in, you wouldn't believe how long this line is.
Hopefully SJO will get it figured out but as of right now, it's a big pain in the butt.

Worst thing is, once you pay, the ticket the machine (or the cashier) gives you is only good for 10 minutes. If you don't exit the parking garage within 10 minutes after you pay, you will be stuck at the exit gate with no way to back out (line of cars behind you) and no attendant to open the gate for you. Mui Tico

You are absolute correct PVT. I've seen it happen many times. I don't know about you but I always park upstairs unless there is a big storm. A lot easier to exit from that area.

What about the dumbasses who pull up to leave without first paying the fee and expect to pay at the gate only to realize there's nobody there? We have a bunch of those here in the malls.

We are now paying our own parking, our own tolls, our own groceries, fueling our own gas, packing our own stuff in stores. I feel bad for people who once had these jobs.

Hey Brother Orange, for the time being we still have people bagging our groceries and pumping our gas. Don't know how much longer that will last. Now if we can just get Bill to let us pour our own drinks at the S.L.
